I found this story in my notes from one of my classes, one of those things the professor told us to read that I never did.
I got it from the library and I read it in one go today. I really enjoyed it and felt inspired to do more for the earth and to be a better steward. I really recommend it and it's very short, you'll be done reading it before you even realize it.
I heard this piece in concert recently and it's been on my mind. It's beautiful and so I decided to share it. I didn't hear the preformance in the clip but it was still quite beautiful, possibly even more so. No sparklers were involved.
Yesterday in church we had a lesson on this talk. I was reminded of the good of doing service and the blessings it can bring not just to the lives of others, but to my life as well. Life is never the best when we're always focusing on ourselves and being selfish, things are better when we can be serving others and thinking about things besides ourselves.

One year ago I graduated from college. Crazy.
Last night we watched an eppisode of American Experience about Dolly Madison. Dolly Madison was never someone that I learned about in history classes but it was very interesting to learn about her in the documentary. Dolly Madison was a very important woman in US history and a very influential one. In many ways we have Mrs. Madison to thank that this country made it out of it's infancy.
One of my least favorite parts of entering jurried shows is waiting to hear back. I haven't gotten very good at predicting if I'll get into shows or not (I'm not sure that ever happens). I've thought that I would absolutly get into some shows, until I found out that I didn't. I'm really excited about the two shows I recently entered, but I'll wait to tell about them if I actually get in them. Wish me luck.
